TechM, what do you think of these WEBS ads on CNBC?

Although I am long WEBS, I have to be objective and say some of these ads are pretty lame. Today's treat was an ad about the Fox brothers running to the rescue of a kid whose rowboat was malfunctioning. The scene takes place on a dark rainy night. The music provides the histroical context: 1970's.

The point of the ad? I'm not sure. The ad campaign is looking more and more like some narcicisstic obsession of the Fox boys. Why should their inflated childhood experiences give anybody confidence in their brokerage? The "spin the bottle" ad spot is also ridiculous. Do you want a brokerage where the randomness of a bottle spin is all you have going for you?

Poorly thought through. Compare with the superb E*Trade commercials.
