I have the same information as you have posted on selling shares (mostly from stock options) to diversify, except that the compensation at SMCI is less weighted on salary and cash bonus than at AZPN which operates more on sharing profits as in McKinsey, Arthur Anderson, etc. There is a (highly speculative) talk of takeover, given the price. Who will be the suitor? I do not have any clue.

BTW, I was informed that the consultancy in process industry is a low margin business because there are many third-party service providers who can make the software operational for much lower prices than AZPN asks. AZPN does not like this competition from these third parties and is concerned that SMCI is way ahead (I was told by 2 years) in software development that third-parties can easily commission, while leaving the high margin on software for SMCI. I felt that AZPN's dependence on commissioning the software (which generates most of their revenues) could be risky in the long run and that AZPN is concerned about SMCI's ROMEO which has received rave audiences in the traditional strongholds of AZPN.
