Company Press Release

Robert M. Cohen & Co. Initiates Coverage of Boston Beer; Analyst Issues Speculative Buy and $15 Price Target

GREAT NECK, N.Y., Oct. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Robert M. Cohen & Co. analyst Keith R. Bossey initiated coverage of Boston Beer Company
(NYSE:SAM) with a speculative buy recommendation and set an 18-month target price of $15 per share.

Boston Beer, the maker of Samuel Adams and the seventh largest brewer in the U.S., has reached a critical period in its maturation, according to Bossey. The company is in a strong financial position with substantial credit facilities.

Bossey noted, ``Only 63% of the public recognize the Samuel Adams name as opposed to 96% recognition of Budweiser (NYSE:BUD - news).
This leaves a full 37% of untapped market in addition to converts from those who know the name but do not yet drink Samuel Adams. The Boston
Beer Company has an aggressive advertising program in print, radio, and recently television targeted at what it believes is its core market; young, soon to be affluent, professionals.''
