I don't believe it is a matter of who suffers more, but rather who is responsible for successfully managing the company (management). The headlines keep suggesting that the emotions of union employees is going to cause the company to go bankrupt. Please. There would be no negotiating, no serious financial problems if sound management had been performed for the past five years. To even remotely suggest that rank and file employees are to blame in the 11th hour is simply ridiculous. Most of the major airlines were mismanaged during this period of time...just like many other companies. To use the threat of bankruptcy to force employees to renegotiate contracts under duress is criminal. Management: accept responsibility and manage. Quit swindling! You're making a bad situation worse. Guess when things become hopeless, people tend to look for someone else to blame...especially if they might have some power to do so.
