Inter-Tel, Polaris added to S&P Smallcap 600 07:24 PM ET 01/08/98 Inter-Tel, Polaris added to S&P Smallcap 600 NEW YORK, Jan 8 (Reuters) - Standard & Poor's Financial Information Services said it has added Polaris Industries Inc and Inter-Tel Inc to its S&P SmallCap 600 Index after the close of trading on January 14. Standard & Poors said the companies will replace Boston Technology Inc and Tseng Labs Inc in theindex. Boston Technology will be acquired by S&P SmallCap 600 component Comverse Technology Inc in a stock deal expected to close on January 14, Standard & Poors said Tseng Labs had a market capitalization of $24 million at the close of trading January 7, ranking 600th in the S&P SmallCap Index. Inter-Tel will be added to the S&P SmallCap 600 Communications Equipment industry group and Polaris will be added to the Leisure Time (Products) industry group, accordingto S&P.
