Ten,
RE:I think it's just as remarkable to see you "flop" around in your stance once again. You'll probably flip-flop yet again once the Pentium 4 follows in the same successful footsteps as Coppermine, and the AMDroids struggle with explaining away x86-64 schedule slips."

You have a selective memory. Coppermine and the i820-Rambus was the big problem with no PC133 chipset until the i815. Not to mention poor bins in the beginning.
All that combined for Floppermine. I called it right, usy like I called the demise of Timna.
I was one who knew that Intel would get through it when they got to the i815 etc. So I guess it sounds like I flipped-flopped.
Heck, I wish I would have flipped-flopped more out of the market at 5000 too.
I've been riding the fence on Willy as well, I think it's actually a lot worse chip than Coppermine but it does have Mhz and will have SDRAM and DDR. Benchs will likely suck on SDRAM but their will always be those who only see Mhz.
Plus Intel can select the benchmarks. Still, the P4 leaves a pit in my stomach.
Jim
