He was a guest instructor, nothing more than that... it takes many years at the graduate level to become an assistant professor, then an associate professor, and then finally a full professor after many years of tenure... apparently, you're not at all familiar with the academic nomenclature...
Let me educate you on the differences...
An assistant prof is a newbie professor who often does not have tenure but is working on it... in a research university, their duties are typically to teach, produce substantial academic research, and possibly community outreach... at a community college, they simply teach and do community outreach... the main difference between an assistant prof vs other levels is that an assistant prof cannot be an official faculty mentor for a doctoral student as they are not tenured...
Associate prof is the next level... they are tenured and obviously get paid more than an assistant prof, and then finally you have a full professor who gets that title after so many years of proven results... the exact formulas for promotion are complex and unimportant here -- just understand that these are ranks within the academic system...
A full professor is the highest rank and shit stain was nothing even close to it...
There is also usually a period of time that you need to have held each title for about five years... what you need to do to become an assistant professor,(then associate, and then full professor depends on the focus of the university, almost invariably, to become an assistant professor you must have completed a Ph.D. and post-doctoral fellowship... it's a lot of work and takes nearly 20 year and shit stain did NONE of it...
I know what I'm talking about, shit stain was nothing but a visiting instructor, one step above a graduate student instructor and nothing more... in fact, he did a shit job, was asked to leave, and then he left...
