I noticed several stories with similar variation of this theme - price cuts to spur demand. I guess the Intel's seasoned PR machine can shape even a fairly grim news to their advantage. I hope AMD's PR department is taking notes.

Joe,

I think its a good PR move but do you think it will have much effect? Chips already are priced so low; and I really don't think its the prices that are deterring people. I think it may be the economic uncertainities plus other toys to buy that are keeping people from buying PC's.

On another note I don't usually promote websites but I have to say that TSC has saved my butt/portfolio. This is the first month in 4 that my portfolio has gone up steadily as the number of tech stocks that I own declines. The info these guys provide on the site is invailable. Further, they now act as guides, much better than any broker and directing readers into specific stocks as well as sectors that are appropriate as the fed easing unfolds. And while I wasn't too enthusiastic about owning LEH or ENE or C or CC at first, making $$$ off them has changed my bad techie attitude. ;~)) What's the best part about these stocks is that I can buy and hold them....even when they get downgrades, they go up....unbelievable. When I buy tech stocks now, its only for a quick pop and then a sell.

And while the first page is good, the second page which is the subscription page is excellent. Whatever they charge, its well worth the price. Most of the guys are seasoned traders and they know their stuff. I used to read the site to keep on top of economic news and now its become essential for my moving ahead. In fact I am planning to buy some of their shares...I think they are one of the dot.coms that will be around for a while.

Check it out.
