In the tele.com March 1997, hard copy edition page 108 under "Products & Services" it says
"The terabit-class product is the first ATM switch to feature SS7 (Signaling System 7) technology, which means the 36190 can communicate seamlessly with the 4ESS and 5ESS switches deployed in public switched telephone networks."
They discuss the MainStreetXpress product line and how Swiss Telecom PTT is deploying ATM.
I just thought that this one feature gives Newbridge a huge leg up on the competition. I appreciate your SBC comment and will do some more work.
