The libility figures are going to be staggering. I spoke with a plaintiff lawyer the other day who handles drug liability cases. He believes these cases are going to be very, very difficult for Merck to defend. The pool of cases is very large, the liability evidence is strong, and the damages per plaintiff are substantial.
