If the kids had to pay extra for it, I doubt they'd use the service as much. I'm certain this would be true. Problem is, how many kids are made to "pay". I recall a time, long, long ago, when my son was 16 and borrowed his sister's car. He brought it back low on gas. I suggested he go put a couple bucks in the tank. His response, "I don't have money to put gas in her tank!". "Give my your key to the car, and don't ever ask to use it again until you're ready to buy gas for it." Was my response. He begged to keep the key so he could go gas up, which he did.
