It was thought provoking to read how roughless the Russian army was to any German who resisted the occupation. Yes. Some time ago CobaltBlue posted a review #reply-17984814 of a new book by Antony Beevor, "The Fall of Berlin 1945." amazon.com It describes the savagery of the Russians in Berlin which was partially a revenge for German atrocities on the east front. Regarding your other message #reply-20149015 on Condi Rice's comparison between post-war Germany and Iraq JohnM posted a similar critique in #reply-19263717
