I want to thank everyone here for their ideas- they've been most helpful. My Comm class is really starting to be a blast. My kids are 20 articles in to their goal of 50 articles on their research projects. The podcast idea was excellent, as was the emphasis on excel! Thank you thank you thank you. My seniors are all busily working on their power point presentations with an excitement that I wasn't sure would catch hold :-) I love to see spontaneous mental combustion. Obviously my seniors are pretty great people, but so are you all. So thank you for helping me help them. I have to say I was outside my comfort zone on this class, but it's been a real learning experience for me. Sometimes it's good to be pushed outside your skill set. Now I've got a whole new toolbox- of shiny new tools I have yet to fully understand :-) But I'm taking lots of things apart with them. Will let you know when I can put things back together again. The one downside is I STILL do not have a computer in my classroom, but it's become quite a joke for my students- so maybe it's better this way. We're the 21st century com class, with the monitor and the keyboard, and no computer. I wish I could be here more, but it's always been my policy to try to go to all the IEP meetings of all the kids in my classes (even though most teachers blow that off)- so I spend many afternoons in those meetings. If my son wasn't disabled and hadn't benefitted so much from resource and good teachers, maybe I wouldn't care, but he did, and I'm trying to do my part and give back what my son received. I miss you guys (and I meant that to include girls as well :-)
