"Half-price" shares of a post-split stock often irrestible, John.

"Split psychology" can be powerful, but it's a bit quirky. Splits don't always have the anticipated effect, and sometimes the effect is delayed.

Incidentally, the float doubles after a 2:1 split, as does total shares outstanding, but each investor's dollar value position is unchanged.
