Cincom Continues New Business Growth

* 14% New Business Revenue Improvement for the Quarter * 34% New Business Revenue Improvement Year-to-Date * Total Revenue Improves nearly $9 Million Year-to-Date to $91.6 Million

CINCINNATI, Aug. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Cincom Systems, Inc., for 30 years one of the world's leading software companies, announced its financial results for the quarter ending June 30, 1998, recording new software license revenue improvements of 14 percent over the same quarter in 1997. Despite weakness in the Asia/Pacific region, these new business increases fueled comparative total revenue growth over the second quarter of 1997 by $1.4 million to $44.6 million.

Cincom also established operations in China during the second quarter and completed acquisition of the International distribution channel of enterprise relationship management partner, Versatility. During the quarter, Cincom also announced new partnerships with Periphonics Corporation [Nasdaq:PERI - news] and Dynamics Research Corporation (Nasdaq:DRCO - news; DRC), at the company's annual user conference, attended in May by more than 400 Cincom clients and partners.

Momentum Continues

This successful second calendar quarter continues the highly successful growth performance in 1998. Cincom's year-to-date revenue for 1998 has increased to $91.6 million, up 11 percent over 1997. This increase has been driven largely by new software license revenue improvement of 34 percent over the same period in 1997.
