Sorry to hear about your Mom's condition. I don't have any grandchildren yet, although all of the kids have been married for 5 to 10 years. They're more interested in their careers, so I have granddogs and grandcats for now. If I ever do have grandchildren, I'm sure I would want to be involved in their lives as much as possible, regardless of their parent's situation. The thing that would be a hardship for me is that all of the kids live at least 1,000 miles away,(job transfers, climbing the ladder of success, whatever that means to them?). I would have to sign up for "Frequent Flyer Miles", because it would break my heart if I wasn't able to see my grandchildren very much. I guess there's a flip side to every coin?
