I'm horrified by Assad and agree with you that he is a thug, but I personally am against a US strike. I feel that a US strike will just serve to further rally the Alawite Syrians to support Assad and unless Obama is willing to own "regime change" in Syria striking there is not going to accomplish much. and could easily make things worse. Call me cynical but if Congress passes the authorization I expect that Obama will then go to the UN for an additional authorization.
