A week ago, the Gallup daily poll was 48%-44% McCain/Obama. Today, it is identical - except the names have reversed. People KNOW which party is responsible for the economic mess, much as they'd like to run away. It is the word that McCain refused to utter in his acceptance speech - Republicans.

The stated policies of the Republican party - deregulation, totally free market - have led us to this nearly inevitable point. In this Ponzi scheme, Fuld has walked away with HALF A BILLION in compensation, while the country is left to bailout the collateral damage.

McCain has recently 'got' it, or so we are to believe, possibly in the last 26 hours. If so, it goes against his last 26 years of stated philosophy and actions - he is fundamentally a deregulator, not a regulator - by his own mouth. Along with buddies like Phil "You're All A Bunch of Whiners" Gramm, they've left this country open to attack from within, as greed hollows out our countries core.
