Salim, I am sorry that you lost money on AXC. You may have adopted the trading strategy that so many people do in which you sell a security after absorbing a certain % loss, irregardless of the company and its fundamentals. However, with Ampex this is not a good strategy, especially if you bought it to hold at least through 1997. You say Ampex has nothing to offer and that it is a BS company. I realize you were venting some steam, but for the sake of others out there who may be relatively new to this thread and the Ampex story, this statement is a completely unfair one to make!
In order for someone to convince me that Ampex has nothing to offer, the person would have to explain to me: * why Ampex's growing DST line shows no promise for future sales growth (they are currently advertising for new regional sales managers to sell the DST products to Fortune 100 companies), * why keepered media will be a failure when apparently Ampex is still holding discussions with most of the drive mfrs besides Maxtor, * why Ed Bramson was an idiot for buying 400,000 shares at market price 3 months ago, * but mostly, why analysts from the Red Chip Review, Individual Investor's SSR, Dabney Resnick, PA Merchant Group and Genesis Group are crazy for thinking Ampex is a good buy!
By the way, I found out from Karen that they don't expect to announce earnings until the end of this month.
Go Ampex, --Wayne-- |
