Yes, I am aware of that.

Still, him becoming a better dictator after about a decade of torture, terror, and disappearing of dissidents hardly makes him "good for Chile". As for "better than Allende", I find it difficult to talk to people who actually advocate foreign-assisted installing of bloody dictators on the basis that the democratically elected leader he replaces would not have handled the economy well enough. Or something.
