Why is it that you can afford the risk? (That's a rhetorical question.)

This is a non rhetorical answer...I pay a much lower premium by having a high deductible/high out_of_pocket_max policy. My certainty is that I pay for routine and preventive care costs...my risk is that I end up paying high OOP expenses in case of serious illness.

Perhaps we should be working on what causes regular, able-bodied people to not be able to afford the risk rather than homogenizing the environment and eliminating the risk because people can't afford the risk.

I have come up with more than one interpretation of the above...the able-bodied part throws me off. Maybe you can rephrase.
