The upgrade market is large and growing but my guess is it is still a relatively small slice of the overall pie. The motherboard makers do not like the way Intel is squeezing them out and now they have an alternative source for their current offerings. As far as capacity, the fact that Intel is strained on the high-end provides AMD with more pickings. The bottom-line is both companies will do well in the near term but Intel is simply going to annihilate everybody with their next generation systems.

One thing that has me more curious than the lack of disclosure on clock speed: multiprocessing capability. If they can't deliver on that score they are dead in the water. Regardless of what happens, this will be an interesting few months!
