The only problem with assuming Apple is going to compete in the high end graphics workstation market is that Apple doesn't have any 64 bit machines on the roadmap does it? SGI is moving to Merced for it's high end machines. Since Sun is porting Solaris to Merced it's been usually assumed in the articles I've read that they will also adopt Merced for their high end machines. That leaves only the low end for Apple. And as you pointed out Adam, with Intel at the high end it makes it more likely that you'll see Slot 2 PII's and Slot 1 PII's eroding Apple's traditional graphics market. It's interesting that even the G3 isn't suitable for professional low-mid end graphics. Apple seems to be leaving this to Umax for now. Jobs must have a plan for this market but I'll be damned if I can see what it is. Rich
