Don't know about - with Telephone , the basic long distance business keeps declining in revenue, AT&T keeps selling off parts to raise cash, and some how the cash goes away....

I believe they lots of off balance sheet debt and entanglements. I am not able to analyze complex financials.

The other point is T is one of the most widely held stocks - individuals, insitutions, etc. Who NEEDs to buy T ?

Not many people. I think more and more T will be sold by individuals, as they see didivend risk and sell t meet expenses. Insitutions will buy Verizon or SBC for exposure to telecom services.
