I agree that the value will not fall to zero.

But if the banks are dumb enough to have bad mortgages on their books as their capital base they deserve to fail.

I think they should also look into legal charges against Standard and Poors and Moodys for totally failing in their duty to warn people about the actual risk of things they are buying.

They have lost all credibility in my book.
