Good evening gentlemen,

In my laziness, I can't say that I exactly spent the time to verify that this question hasn't already been discussed ad nauseum, but I wanted to ask a quickie. :)

I'm very long longterm on flash, and am heavily invested in SSTI in particular. Being the nerd type that I am, I found myself an inexpensive flash card, and opened it to find two chips inside. My assumption (maybe incorrectly so), is that one of these pieces (the smaller of the two) is a piece of NOR, or code storage flash used in showing the "accessor" of the data how to access the information kept on the larger piece of NAND or sequential write memory.

The question then is.. do flash cards all require a piece of NOR type flash, and where does SNDK get those pieces from? Do they manufacture their own NOR and NAND?

SNDK looks ready to rumble post labor day.. look forward to watching it and SSTI roll..

Paul aka DocPaul aka Syntie (on yahoo boards)

PS: Looking for good / real DD on SSTI? search for my handle on yahoo SSTI.. I've posted a heap of it there..
