A year ago many on the Rambus thread said it would succeed because it had the right Friend(s). It was thought that Intel would make Rambus happen, whether it was the right technology or not. All the FUD and smoke came along and the picure became less clear. Intel even seemed to waiver.

Now, in just the past few weeks, there seems to be this capitulation to the the concensus that Rambus not only has the right friends, it is the best technology. The DDR window seems to closing and may get slammed shut if Rambus, Intel, Dell and the "five wise producers" can exploit this opportunity. It sure looks to me like they are trying to do so with all their might.
