Tom, thanks for your explanation about an orderly market decline. On another topic: Today I found out that Schwab's StreetSmart and eSchwab dial-in software is not Y2K-compliant, and my local office tells me Schwab has no plans to fix them. Once they go "toes-up" all online trading will be done via the internet. I don't like it but I'm hopeful this will spur them to make improvements to their web site. This is the first Y2K issue I know of that will affect me personally. I wonder what else will go wrong? To be on the safe side, maybe I should trade in my old car for a new one in 1999...
