And kudos to you, Ray, for persevering through the sometimes lengthy tomes I have a tendency to write. Stamina. It must come from that healthy fresh air you breathe, there, up on the slopes.

re: first screen mentalities, I agree.

We've covered this over in the ATHM thread at times, examining the merits of the concerns of both Milo and Case, which they have demonstrated, even in unspoken ways, on this matter.

Most savvy users like yourself don't care, and the world is becoming increasingly savvy. Granted, the majority of first time users, and mast of the established ones, still, don't know any better, or care. I think that some analysis is warranted to determine where the crossover will take place.

Will it matter in another year? Eighteen months? Will most users continue to yield to the screens that they now see upon ignition, over the longer term? Or will they customize their desktops and PDAs to bring them directly where they want to be...

... senza agitazione.

If it doesn't matter in the future, say another one to two years, just think of the logic that will, in retrospect, be seen as suspect, when the current wars will be viewed at that time as having been fought over issues which are no longer relevant. History will repeat itself here, as elsewhere.

On another note, you sometimes use funny codes in your posts. For example, what does NS stand for? -s-
