Ron thank you so much for posting that link.

i have have been to the forum before as I am registered as JJP1618 ..... kind of obvious huh -g-

as I start reading through the threads on there...I believe I will be spending some time there as Tradestation
really is a tremendous platform once you have the learning curve under control... and that can really take
a couple of years....... or at least the more you use it and watch people like Larry williams give webinars
and see the systems they have built and are selling for very reasonable money..... what also is
quite cool is that with some of the systems you buy, trade state will redate commision money for the
product cost..... Kevin Davey, who has one of the best books I have ever read.... he uses trade state
exclusively, won the 2006 Robbins Futures World Trading cup. and he generated triple digit returns,
3 years in a row...

Kevin gives really great Webinars on Tradestation and he commented he has a laptop that is doing system
testing 24/7..... he gets the rough initial data and monte carlo outcomes and other data points , such
as maximum drawdown.... and he is always looking for the smoothest equity growth line... Not a jagged
one that is oscillating up and down!... His comment was that algorithmic trading systems are changing
all the time and people using them have to adapt....

from my perspective, I'm not just looking at charts , technical set up, and algorithmic trading systems.
I am looking letting the central bankers tell me what they think is going on and they do telegraph what they
are going to do, as well from my global macro Long dated FX and bond trading experiences at Citibank
and Chase .... plus seeing how FA's operate at Morgan stanley and UBS... it gives me a blend of
things to look at.... and also it helps to know who knows what they are talking about and who is playing
Liar's poker where they have big massive positions they have to unload to the public.

LinkedIn has a Invitation only Members Group that I applied to and have joined..there are 533 members,
however, it is not really a group post environment.... the owner of the SIG.... is an expert programmer
in easy language which is the development programing language for tradestation.

I exchange the occasional email with Patrick and the occasional tweet... He commented to me that
Tradestation was all that he uses..... he 1st night in Vegas in March of 2000 he wanted me to come
up to his room to see his 6000 pages of chart set ups... and trading techniques. i was too tired to do it.....
and then the opportunity got away from us... we have communicated over the years, and I spent the a
weekend with him at the RENO SI Piffer blow out in Nov 1999 and then again in Las Vegas in March
of 2000.... he's a classy guy.... his wife Jackie has been the head of the National Council of Geocosmic
Researchers... and thus she cross polinates with my lone time astro market friends, Arch Crawford,
Bill Sarubi, Tom Wallace, Michael Jenkins.. Robert Hand.. ( whom I have met.... i can not call him a
friend.. he was quite tight with Bill S. as they built Astrolabe together....)

Just to circle back around I also use stockcharts. also am a fundamental guy and find the material in
Bloomberg, the WSJ,Barron's....Drudge...Reuters and a bunch of other places.... plus the constant in flow
of material that my array of friends, former colleagues, partners...etc....

But to sum it up.... the Tradestation threads have some great content on them....

Robert E. Pardo is another great guy to follow for systems trading...

He was the first individual who was not working at a big investment bank who in the early 1990's
developed trading systems and made real money trading with them.

Robert Pardo (born 26 April 1951) is an American investor and author. He received his B.A. in History, Philosophy, and Sociology from Northwestern University. Pardo is a recognized expert in the design and testing of trading strategies and computerized trading applications. He began his career developing systematic trading software in the early 1980s. He wrote the first edition of Design, Testing, and Optimization of Trading in 1991 and released the second edition in 2008 published by Wiley Trading. He had originally discussed the concept of Walk Forward Optimization which is an important aspect in present trading markets.
