(Nasdaq: NSIL), the leading provider of system-on-silicon connectivity solutions, today announced that the company has greatly enhanced its presence in Germany. NETsilicon has added three new design center partners, three new sales and marketing appointments, and new Munich-based offices. Through this newly invigorated presence in Germany, NETsilicon will have a base of operations from which to expand its sales efforts throughout the Europe-Middle East-Africa (EMEA) region.
Three German design center partners will integrate NETsilicon's NET+Works(TM) product family into the designs of customer-specific networked products:
--I2SE GmbH - located in Moers, specializes in the development and distribution of its own hardware and software products for the embedded systems market, including the embedded web server, embedded LCD applications, and products and services in the ultra-low power management sector.
--MESCO Engineering GmbH - located in Lorrach, implements research and development projects in the field of industrial measuring technology and technoscientific software.
--IXXAT Automation GmbH - located in Weingarten, focuses on developing industrial and internal vehicle communications systems based on CAN, CANopen, DeviceNet and Embedded TCP/IP. IXXAT Automation GmbH provides customer-specific hardware and software developments, its own products, and advisory and training services.
Joining NETsilicon's German-based sales and marketing force are Andreas Maser as area sales manager, Nigel James as technical sales manager, and Olaf Schiller as technical support manager.
Andreas Maser joins NETsilicon from R. Hirschmann, where he served as key account manager for major customers in the field of automation and networking systems. He will be responsible for sales and marketing of the company's NET+Works embedded networking solutions. Maser is also a board member of IAONA Europe (Industrial Automation Open Networking Alliance), an alliance of leading international manufacturers of automation technology. Nigel James brings experience in the field of microprocessors and embedded computing as an ASIC developer, field applications engineer, and sales engineer with Force Computers to his role of technical sales manager. Olaf Schiller joins NETsilicon from Phoenix Contact, where he held various positions in hardware development and was responsible for setting up technical support and handling external developments of INTERBUS controllers.
