As for the I-Banker bashing more power to you. Some are good and earn their fees. Most Don't.

As for the PSFT speculation, take it as that pure speculation. My perspective and analysis was mostly financial. I agree PSFT is kicking ass, but many companies that grow that fast start to hit the wall as continuing to grow 50%+ a year becomes very, very difficult. Look at Parametric Technology's stock the past year as it's growth slowed.

"BTW, Roberts that did M&A - any relation to the Roberts in KKR??"

No I wish.

To Steve Farber

"I would be extremely surprised if VNTV could be bought for 40. I just don't think
management would go for it - and why should they?

Company is strong, growing, and the leader. The stock was at 42 - ore than a year
ago. Company is not stalled; neither is market, product, management.

At current growth, stock could be at 50 next year. Why settle for 40 now?"

I agree with Clam Clam's thoughts about getting the upside on PSFT's stock. I also agree that VNTV probably wouldn't want to do a deal at $40 a share, they would risk a shareholder lawsuit from investors who bought in at $40 last year.
