When I finally went to France, I loved and hated it. I wanted to think of Degas and Picasso, instead I thought of peasants surrounding the guillotine and collaborationists. The people I met were mostly very nice, by the way. But there is something odd about the culture, as if they have had too much history, with too many quirks, and have not been able to process it all.

I love Margaret Thatcher, and agree with her about the European Union.........
