James, Yikes! Hope you did not mistake me for a TA from one of earlier posts, I am not, but I would like to hear from "real" TAs though :-), but I wonder if TA really works on a stock like AXC which moves on news. I have a trial subscription to Red chip (which will expire any time now) and I just checked it - Ampex is on their portfolio, their purchase price is $5.87. This is what they had to say about it in their latest update -
Ampex seems to be riding on the right track to become a very large hit. We reviewed several issues ago what it meant if a hard-disk drive manufacturer adopted the technology. But, please examine the reality of the industry now that Maxtor has signed a deal. If the "keepered" technology works and propels storage capacity at a nominal cost, will not other manufacturers need to adopt the technology to defend their market share? Since the cost of applying the "keepered" media is a minuscule, incremental-process-step expense versus the alternative savings of not using expensive, competitive technology to realize the same advance, there should be little hesitation in adopting the technology. If Ampex could charge $0.50 to $1.00 per storage disk and the market is measured in the hundreds of millions of disks, could this not re-establish Ampex in this field. Given the downside is $6.00, it makes for a convincing opportunity (BUY).
Have a good weekend! Dayal |
