Has anyone ever seen the 1961 B&W film, Something Wild, starring Carroll Baker and Ralph Meeker? I hadn't seen it in maybe 25 or 30 years but it was on recently on Turner Classic Movies. It's about a middle class college student who deteriorates after being raped. She is rescued later by a man who traps her in his rundown basement apartment. I think the photography is excellent. It captures NY city in a manner suitable to the mood of the film. Aaron Copland does the score. Jean Stapleton appears in a rather shocking small role. I didn't recognize her at first. It didn't win any awards, but it always stuck with me and was glad to see it back on TV after all these years. I see Amazon has it free for Prime members. amazon.com
