I'd mentioned earlier today that Newcrest Mining (big Australian gold miner) had today announced an institutional PP for A$500 million. Well, by afternoon the response was so massive that they raised it by 50% to A$750 million. Who says miners can't get capital? Mind you, it's peanuts; Newcrest has a market-cap of A$14 billion.
