(Amalco) will be listed and posted for trading at the open on Tuesday, April 16, 2002, under the trading information set out below, in substitution for the presently listed common shares of Pacific Rim Mining Corp. (symbol: PFG), which will be delisted at that time.

The foregoing results from the recently effected amalgamation involving Dayton Mining Corporation and old Pacific Rim. Pursuant to the amalgamation, which was approved by shareholders on April 3, 2002, Dayton and old Pacific Rim have amalgamated to form Amalco. Old Pacific Rim shareholders are entitled to exchange their shares for Amalco shares on a one-for-one basis. See elsewhere in today's bulletins for details on the delisting of Dayton shares. It is understood that the letters of transmittal were mailed on or about April 11, 2002, to shareholders of old Pacific Rim requesting them to return the completed and duly executed letters of transmittal, together with their share certificates representing common shares of old Pacific Rim, to Computershare Trust Company of Canada at its principal office in Vancouver or Toronto in order to receive the Amalco shares to which they are entitled.
