The Flycast Network and Flycast MediaNet Now Support Macromedia Flash And Unicast Superstitials; Flycast Delivers Over 40% of its Ads With Rich Media SAN FRANCISCO, Oct. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Flycast Communications Corp. (Nasdaq: FCST), the leading provider of Internet direct response advertising solutions, today announced several new initiatives which strengthen its leadership position in supporting and delivering rich media advertising. The Flycast Network and Flycast MediaNet now support both Macromedia Flash and Unicast's SUPERSTITIALs(TM), providing advertisers with an expanded set of rich media tools to maximize the effectiveness of web ad campaigns. Since becoming the first rich media-friendly ad network over a year ago, the Flycast Network has delivered more than 800 rich media campaigns from more than 150 advertisers. Currently, more than 60% of the sites in the Flycast Network support a wide array of rich media formats. Flycast MediaNet, an end-to-end ad serving solution, is the only third-party ad server that delivers Macromedia Flash ads and tracks Flash click-through rates with no additional charge to the advertiser. Flycast MediaNet enables advertisers to serve, optimize and track the performance of campaigns across the entire web. Advertisers can now utilize both the Flycast Network and Flycast MediaNet to deliver rich media campaigns across any site on the web. "Flycast is on the forefront of supporting and implementing the most innovative rich media advertising techniques," said Heidi Kay, director of product marketing at Flycast. "The success we have experienced is a clear indication of advertiser demand for rich media supported campaigns. It also reconfirms our commitment to providing ROI-effective advertising solutions to direct response focused marketers." Flycast's support of Macromedia Flash allows advertisers to efficiently run Flash-enabled ads across the Flycast Network. Advertisers can use Flycast's ResponsePoint(TM) program to execute rich media campaigns in a variety of formats including Macromedia Flash and Shockwave, HTML and Java. Launched in September, 1998, ResponsePoint easily converts static advertising messages into interactive ads with features such as pull-down menus, credit card transactions, subscription forms, text images, animations, calculators and multimedia capabilities. Additionally, Flycast has partnered with Unicast to support the integration and delivery of the SUPERSTITIAL format within the Flycast Network. SUPERSTITIALs are non-banner rich media ads that can be any size on a computer screen, can be authored in most any creative format and are pre-loaded to eliminate latency and minimize intrusiveness while maximizing creative flexibility. By adding support for the SUPERSTITIAL and Macromedia Flash, Flycast now offers online advertisers an expanded suite of proven rich media tools and formats to quickly and cost-effectively deliver highly interactive campaigns. Currently, more than 40% of the ads delivered over the Flycast Network contain rich media formats such as HTML, Java or Macromedia Shockwave. Flycast allows advertisers to take advantage of key partnerships with many of the leading rich media technology providers, including RealNetworks, BlueStreak.com, Comet Systems, Inc., Excite@Home's Enliven, Thinking Media and IQ.com.
