I'm assuming you mean from Darby all the way to Stites?

We went in from Darby towing our little trailer in '98. We only went 87 miles, then right past Magruder Station and up to Crystal Creek? I think that is what it is called.......can't find it on any map. Bumpitty bumpy ride, that's for sure.

We had the most wonderful 5 days of absolute solitude......except for the bear, herd of deer-including buck, fish, osprey and lots of coyote calls.......didn't see another human being the whole time. It is a shame to see all of the burned skeletons of trees in your pics, but I know that within a very short time, the whole area will heal. It is so beautiful that what ever damage was done by the fire pales into the background of the magnificent terrain and views.

We are so glad we had the opportunity to go, and know we only saw a small portion. A person could spend a long time exploring that area, and reading up on the history.......which is long and colorful.

It's the longest and roughest road in the lower 48 states, 116.5 miles, with no pavement and no services.
