Company stated that they booked a 15 million deal on 4th of October that would
have given them .35 for quarter if booked a few days earlier. They also turned
down several orders that were priced below what they wanted. If the price
had been "normalized" they would have come in at .39. IBM cannot keep dumping
product at unprofitable levels. This reminds me of modem market last year. Intel was
exiting business and dumping product. Everyone in industry suffered. When pricing pressures
eased, the survivors flourished. EMC will be fine. Even at 1/2 of expectations, this should be a 20
dollar stock.
