Why Does Mr. Lamb Find It Necessary To Stretch Figures Here?

" Throughout most of socialist Europe, tax rates reach 70 percent and more ".

Well, according to my research , this figure is inflated.

US Of AMERICA :

taxplanet.com

EUROPE AND SOME OTHERS :

paradine.com

Concern In Europe :

cps.org.uk

Ireland as an example :

taxfoundation.org

Similar concerns from the Heritage Foundation :

However,I agree with you and Mr. Lamb on this one Tim.It is one thing for Europe to need/require/desire harmonization of tax structures under a common currency to glue together an otherwise fragmented collage of competing economies, it is entirely another thing to impose those considerations on a global scale.

The WTO should stick to its mandate of overseeing international trade to ensure unfair competitive practices are not employed by governments to enrich certain industries within their boarders.

They DO play a valued role and have acted reasonably without prejudice in the past , even though the process is painfully slow and not always void of undue influence

But as Mr. Lamb states, " all of these international agencies and organizations are part of the grand parade to global governance."

That is the scary part that we should remain diligent towards and ensure our sovereignties are not undermined by quest for Utopia -- that would be the pure Socialist agenda that has proven unrealistically viable in today's ever increasingly competitive environment.

Yet the US..and many other countries...are not without their own inconsistencies that would on a case by case basis, lend credence to the argument that governments of all levels play or try to play a role in private enterprise and enhance strategic advantages through influences only they could employ.

There's the rub. There is NO such thing as a pure capitalist economy any more than a pure Socialist one.Lines are crossed in many many instances that blur the landscape to the point where the business case can only be defended from an ideological perspective.

Some Americans believe Canada is Socialist. It isn't.It swings in and out of more or less capitalist - socialist tendencies- dependant on the reigning ideology at the time, and swings from Province to Province...more now than I've ever experienced before.

Let's call it Socitalism. <g>

BOTTOM LINE?
_____________

Like the Fleetwood Mac song :

Go your own way.

Let those who demonstrate a superior alternative rule the day.

Best to you…..
