Dan - got this off today's IBD:

Ethernet Switch Market Slows; Growth Now Just 220%

Date: 9/3/96

Sales of switching products for Ethernet networks have been growing rapidly. But at least one industry researcher
is reducing '96 revenue forecasts for the sector.

Dell'Oro Group of Portola Valley, Calif., reports that lower-price switches now comprise a higher share of unit
sales than expected. So Dell'Oro trimmed its '96 switched Ethernet revenue forecast by 20% to $4 billion from
roughly $5 billion.

But this still represents a stunning advance over '95's $1.25 billion in switched Ethernet sales. Market share
gainers thus far in '96 include Cisco Systems Inc. of San Jose, Calif.; Cabletron Systems Inc. of Rochester, N.H.;
and Xylan Corp. of Calabasas, Calif.
