elpolvo,

here's an email from my oldest daughter she sent out to our extended family.....

Last night both Tom and I had the amazing opportunity to be in Grant Park to see our next President declare victory.  Tom went as a guest of a friend from high school.  I attended with my dear friend Kate.

I've attached some photos that kate sent me this morning.  Neither these pics nor the television coverage can adequately capture the scene in the park last night.  It was incredible.  I wish you all could have been there to experience it first hand.

After it ended the scene was even more surreal as people started walking from the rally.  Michigan Avenue was closed to cars and people were walking every direction, playing music, dancing, crying, yelling (my favorite was the woman standing on top of a bus shelter who yelled out - "Palin, she's on the next plane to Alaska!".  People cheered then she jumped down and just started walking home.  We walked almost a mile before getting to a long line of buses that the city had staged at the river to take people home.  As always, chicago was "the city that works".

Ursie
