Christine, My Father who does volunteer work at the local VA hospital talked me into going with him to say hi to some of the friends and people he has met. Out of respect for him I said yes sure I would go Dad.
Boy, that really was one of the saddest experiences of my life.
These people wasting away at the convelescent center really got to me. I wish I could bye them all a computer and show them how to get hooked to the Net. Maybe they could talk to someone a little more often.
You can't imagine how greatful these poor people were that someone went and visited them just to say hi.
It really show's you what a short time we are here and how important every day is.
My New Years resolution is to go at least once a month and do volunteer work. I hope my stomach can handle it.
