The essential issue is what is the "product" that the company sells? ESignal and Quote.com (the companies) are in the datafeed business, not the charting business. The purpose of their charting tools is to sell data, not charts. QChart and ESignal are "free" with their data subscription. Qcharts is probably the most successful "sample" app ever developed. It's original purpose was simply to attract developers to create more QFeed-based charting apps to sell more Quote.com data.
RavenQuote, InvestorRT, Ensign Signal, NeoTicker, Amibroker, AdvancedGet, MetaStock, etc. are charting products. Although they may be limited to certain feeds, the "product" is the charts not the data.
