The Market Buzz
dot-com IPOs Choking Up The Pipe
If the sizzling demand for iVillage compared to the downright fizzle of
Pepsi Bottling are indications of things to come, investors should scoop
up the Internet IPOs slated to go public this week. In the new online
batch are Claimsnet.com, a Texas-based company that processes healthcare
claims over the Web; dELiA*s spinoff iTurf, an online Generation Y
community site; Internet retailer Value America and ISP Log On America.
Even offline Ravenswood Winery is going digital. The Sonoma,
California-based company will be lead underwriter W.R. Hambrecht & Co.'s
first deal to be conducted over the Internet through a dutch-styled
auction, where investors submit bids for shares.
