Matthew,
Not to be rude but a few points in your message are tip-offs that you have no idea what the hell you are doing! The first is your reference to "so-called" shorts. That's what they are. There is no other term. One would only call them "so-called" if they were not familiar with the term and hence not familiar with investing.

Clue number two is the biggie. You are not in control of your own account? If your broker calls and TELLS you he sold something for you without even asking you if you wanted to. He obviously thinks your a moron and has set up your account with no-call trading priviliges, because he doesn't trust you to have good judgement.

Clue number three is that you have run out of patience after what you call "a full year." The first sign of a novice investor is one that thinks a year is long term, and gets antsy about every little down tick. They end up selling money losers they get frustrated with, and never make a dime.

No I don't think your a short. I just think your not that bright. A short that wanted to influence others wouldn't leave a post like that. Anyway, we wan't investors who are in for the long hual. During which this will be a very profitable little number. Just look at the technology, and its many applications.

In for the profits,
SHMOE
