This is absolutely correct.

Witness what happened to Intel on September 22, 2000 and afterwards, when they unloaded the "news bomb" that they had seen a sudden drop in business in Europe.

Nearly every other company - AMD, Cisco, Dell, Compaq - just shrugged their shoulders and said - "BIG INTEL PROBLEM - but WE'RE doing FINE !!!"

By January, 2001 the impact that Intel saw - clearly the beginning of the wave - had caught up to nearly every single technology company and all these stocks followed Intel's down into the dumper.
