as for processors, i like pentium, but i think you'll find varying opinions on that topic.

vid cards are coming with 64mb of onboard mem now, aren't they? wow, one of my pc's has that much mem. <g>

have you decided on an operating system? you might want to look at win2000pro. i'm sure you've heard of its stability. i run it and there's a noticeable diff between it and w98 & w95.

good time for me to mention dell. i like dell a lot, and they seem to be generally in favor here among more than a few thread members. for a variety of reasons, dell is a fine way to go.

that's all that comes to mind immediately. i'm sure others will have good input for you.
