Another potential company that fits the profile is African Gold Plc. They are an Irish-based gold company with operations in Africa. They also state on their website that a significant merger/acquisition is under discussion.

I personally would rather see Lonmin Plc. as the company in question because they are much more financially sound. We can only hope that whoever the company is, they bring something to the merger. Time will tell.
